This week felt like a whirlwind of sickness, strange weather, and staying up much too late!
Here’s what I accomplished despite this virus trying to straight up murder me.
Submissions
No submissions this week, as I was too busy being Dead (ie lying in bed unable to think real people words).
However, I have applied to 19 things this year already! My goal for the year is 52 submissions (ie one a week), so I am already ahead by seven submissions.
I’m attending an info session for the NYTW Admin 2050 Fellowship this week, so hopefully I’ll be getting that in soon.
Projects
This week I mostly focused on the commission for the theater company’s youth club, as the director decided to make some form changes based on attendance.
I didn’t really write much else, due to the aforementioned Inability to Think Real People Thoughts.
Words Written
I wrote about 3000 words for the new draft of the youth club play!
Miscellaneous
I helped my best friend to edit/dramaturg her latest draft of her ten minute play for this cool contest we both submitted to.
I performed in Scotopia once again, AND saw two other parts of the festival! I also stayed out much too late at our celebratory cast outing afterwards (everyone is just so cool and fun okay?).
I did quite a bit of First Kiss Theatre stuff, as I am taking over our Weekly Round-Up! In this series (both an email and Instagram Stories) we post submission and audition opportunities as well as shows to see. Very helpful if you’re looking for opportunities or just want to see cool theater. I also assisted (minorly) with casting for our first episodic/full length audio theater presentation, what big teeth you have by Eliza Kuperschmid! I’m a very proud dramaturg/editor for this one.
Finally, I did some prepping for my voice acting role as Kimberly in Inc The Podcast! I’ve been on a few episodes already and am getting ready for the next recording session. If you haven’t listened but you like sci-fi, dark comedy, and Weird Stuff, you need to give it a try.
A bit of a wash week again, but I’m already feeling a lot less sick, so hopefully next week we’ll be back at it!
What did you guys get up to this week? Let me know in the comments!
Happy theatre-making!
