This week was tech for Scotopia (the theatre festival I’m performing in), and I was already in a bad flare…so now I have a virus from Hell. What did I manage to get done this week?
Submissions
I didn’t submit to shit this week, I’m too tired.
I did work on my NYTW Admin 2050 Fellowship application, though.
Projects
This week I wrote another ten minute play called Killing the Books, which ended up being 9ish pages and 1500 words.
Word Count
Pretty much only the aforementioned short play, so about 1500 words.
Miscellaneous
I did the usual for FKT (meetings, emails, etc), about two hours worth of work or so.
I dramturged/edited a short play for my best friend (one of my favorite miscellaneous theatre activities) which probably took an hour.
Most of my free time was spent rehearsing for Scotopia or desperately resting and trying to convince my body that I wasn’t dying. We opened this past Sunday, and it went great! Immediately afterwards I succumbed to my annual Spring Virus From Hell and have basically been in bed ever since. Cross your fingers I’m better enough by Saturday to do our second performance.
As you can tell, some weeks are gonna be a wash. And that’s okay! We gotta take care of ourselves so we can continue to have those weeks where we get a crazy amount done. This upcoming week will probably be another slow one, but hopefully I’ll get back on it after that!
Happy theatre making!
